Superhero Clubhouse names 2020 Fellows
The Fellowship is a six-month paid residency for two individuals to collaboratively create a new performance-based project exploring environmental justice. Fellows develop this project with regular opportunities to share work, participate in other programs of Superhero Clubhouse, and engage with our community. Student creates theater piece based on real life of people in Oakland’s Chinatown
Jessica Wang, an actress in the play, said the play addresses issues in a “very nuanced manner.” Wang said with most Asian-American theater or art, she walks in with “kind of an idea” of what the message will be. However, “Tears at the Margins” showcases a complex and diverse depiction of Oakland’s Chinatown, she said. Click here to read more.
